GLOBE Shades Of Energy

The conversion of mass into energy, the conversion of energy into mass.

The conversion of mass into energy, the conversion of energy into mass. An exciting field of knowledge. Since Einstein and his groundbreaking and revolutionary discovery of the connections between energy and mass, man has had many of humanity's questions answered. Not the question of God, but essential parts about the nature of creation.

E=mc2. The energy inherent in any mass at rest. Depends only on the mass of matter not on its composition. A kilogram of wood has the same rest energy as a kilogram of plutonium. Amazingly, the structure of Newton's equation of kinetic energy is identical: E=mv2.

Emax = 2mc2? When people recognize these physical connections, they almost automatically ask themselves the astounding question: How can so much energy be cohesive? Why can't we feel so much energy without even guessing the knowledge of physics.

Or do we guess it in faith in God?

Artist's Comments on the Sculpture: The Golden Sun

A sculpted atomic bomb or mind bomb consisting of two shells. One bowl symbolizes the advocates of the atomic bomb, the other those of the opponents of the atomic bomb. The shells are deformed. The deformation or the collapse symbolize the political relaxation after the cold war.

Energy: Beautiful, aesthetic and miserable, destructive. A question of usage.

Ever since the atomic bomb has existed, it has not only split or merged atoms, it has also split or united human spirits. A good example of areas of life where science does not provide clear insight into true or false. Likewise, there are no empirically verified findings as to which assumption is correct or incorrect. Lots of room for discussion.

The wavy metallic surface of the sculpture symbolizes the tremendous energy that is stored in a bomb and can be released on command. The raised waves and shiny surfaces represent proponents of the nuclear defense strategy. The troughs and the dull surfaces for the opponents of the nuclear defense strategy ("You will stand in the dark valley.")

The bomb also has something primally artistic about it. An item that has been given the intention by some owners never to be used - never to fulfill the function of the bomb. Maybe not from other owners either. The function of gaining security or gaining power? The self-destruct function, probably not.

The texts (Yes! / NO!) on the respective bomb shells symbolize the division in society when it comes to atomic bombs. Some see them as guarantors of our security, others as the greatest threat to humanity.

The lyrics (Have a sunny day! / The Sun will kill the Light!) reflect the cynicism of any war. The soldiers decorate the bombs with cynical messages for the recipients. Most soldiers involved in dropping bombs would probably not say "Have a nice day" or "Have a sunny day" to the faces of the children the bomb hits. Or the opponents of the atomic bomb react to the bomb with desperate irony.

Have a sunny day! The Sun will kill the Light!

The artificial sun will extinguish the light of mankind. Energy, a question of use - peaceful, warlike, consumption-oriented, sustainable, ...

Or loosely based on Einstein: "No mouse would build a mousetrap."

The fuse. The fuse, a power cable that can be used to illuminate the sculpture. With fossil or renewable electricity? Electricity from coal – the slow atomic bomb?

The atomic bomb: It not only splits atoms, but also spirits.

The big question: How do you gently deflate the bomb? A peaceful world of peoples without the atomic bomb. The UN – A good idea, unfortunately still too imperfect.

The "ArtKey" by Kilian Saueressig for the work: The Bomb - The Golden Sun

TheGoldenSun, a ShadesOfEnergy style sculpture. The third series of artworks from the ShadesOfEnergy style. A series of artworks dealing with the multiple forms of energy.

The ArtKey summarizes the stylistic elements of the image, condensed to the essentials.

INV (inversion):
In the image, the inversion of the concave waves is found in the form of their convex counterpart. / Dullness and shine form the second inversion.

AS (association):
Destruction-Security / Mass-Energy / Light-Energy / Mass-to-Energy Conversion / Death-Sun / Human-Cynicism

ENT (alienation):
For the viewer: Alienated representation of security in the form of an atomic bomb / atomic bomb as an aesthetically effective sculpture / power cable as an alienated fuse / light as a symbolic explosion of the bomb

ABS (abstraction):
Simplified representation of two opinions. The atomic bomb made the world safer. / The atomic bomb will destroy the world. / Conversion of mass into energy. / The splitting of the spirits.

PiP (picture in picture):
The withering fire of the bomb.

UEB (exaggeration):
Highly magnified representation of the wave character of energy and mass.

ILU (illusion):
The illusion of beauty. Can something as destructive as a nuclear bomb be beautiful?

Style:
ShadesOfEnergy. The stylistic element that determines the image is the abstraction of energy and its various forms of appearance.

INT (interaction):
Viewing of the image by the viewer/modification of the image (color, brightness) by internal and external light sources. / Interaction with environment. / Haptics. / Generation of associations in the viewer. / Condensation seed for new thoughts and the exchange of ideas with others.

High gloss structures:
Mirror interaction with its environment. Haptic structure invites you to touch it.

Artist's Notes on ARTWORK: FloweralBomb 482g

A small ball with a diameter of about 10 cm and a weight of about 482 g. This small sphere has about as much resting energy as the detonation energy of all nuclear bombs combined at the height of the Cold War. When an atomic bomb explodes, only a small part of its mass is converted into energy!

As with any combustion process, only a very, very small part of the mass is converted into energy.

Hard to understand for many people. However, it is strikingly illustrated in the ShadesOfEnergy sculpture. In other works of art in the ShadesOfEnergy style, the connection between the conversion of energy into mass and vice versa is simplified and illustrated in various ways.

The wavy surface of the sculpture symbolizes the emergence of energy, which always takes the form of waves. Whether matter or non-matter. All particles in matter such as electrons, protons or neutrons oscillate in wave form. Just as the light dances through the room in waves. Our thoughts - dancing electromagnetic waves of matter and energy.

The flower - the atomic bomb explosion in slow. The same physical process just in reverse - no chemical reaction without a physical reaction. The flower converts light into mass during its life. What does light do during photosynthesis? It provides the energy needed to split the CO2 molecule into carbon and oxygen. CO2 has a lower mass than C and 2O. Cannot be measured with a conventional scale, the mass difference is so small. If you consider that only a few grams of mass are converted into energy when an atomic bomb explodes – hardly surprising. Or to put it another way: Where is the light that is absorbed by the plant? Part of the light is transmitted and part is reflected. The part that is absorbed is partly given off again in the form of heat. Exciting, part of the light waves are converted into mass. If you burn the plant, part of this light is emitted again. Mass is visibly transformed into energy.

The petal as an atomic bomb explosion. A very exaggerated way of showing how plants convert energy. The conversion of mass to energy in the combustion of carbon with oxygen and the tangible and visible energy given off in the form of heat and light. Physically, however, no difference to the atomic bomb - mass is transformed into energy.

the bullet It curves the space around you. Or does it not curve space at all, just the path of energy, of light? A question of defining space and time.

The atomic bomb: It not only splits atoms, but also spirits. The flower touches the mind, splitting molecules in the process. A true, not arbitrary and equally fantastic association?

Or, the concentrated, abstract compression of knowledge. Knowledge as meaning? Certainly not. However, helpful in the search for meaning or even the divine. does god exist What is the divine? Love!
