Translucent self-luminous philosophical art

All of Kilian Saueressig's works of art are called "Arts" by him. Art by Kilian Saueressig is philosophical and strives for meaning and knowledge. The aim of his art is to make complex philosophical, religious, political and/or scientific topics clear and understandable.

Artistic tools are on the one hand inversion, association, alienation, abstraction, the image within the image, exaggeration, illusion, interaction, increasingly complex series and variations, but especially the completely new and unique surface and feel of the arts by Kilian Saueressig.

These works of art are not just for looking at. They can and should be touched and felt. They have 3D surfaces with reliefs that give the works additional dimensions depending on the viewing angle. If you take a closer look, you can see countless microstructures in the macrostructure. The 3D color space used literally breaks all conventions. The sophisticated technologies used enable the use of a wide variety of colors, including metallic ones. This creates an unprecedented richness of colour. A symbiosis of thousands of colors and matt-gloss structures with incredible depth is achieved.

The arts receive further captivating levels through the self-illumination that can be switched on and off, the brightness and color of which can be varied, and through the interaction with the lights of the day and the use of targeted incident light. The multifaceted, changeable light output enables the viewer to individualize his work of art and thus the space surrounding him in terms of color and effect. A work of art that enters into a dialogue with its surroundings: an artistic ping-pong game of light reflection and absorption.

Art by Kilian Saueressig should be artistic, methodical, innovative, sustainable, not harmful to health and ecologically sound, functional and technologically fascinating at the same time as well as enlightening, aesthetically pleasing and joyful. Transparent and yet mysterious.

Excerpt from the booklet for the work of art: The fabulous human

The fabulous human N1/1 S2/3 V2 is a picture from a trilogy. The trilogy shows, among other things, the connection between freedom, diversity, justice, sustainability and pluralism.

The more freedom, love, diversity and reason, the more harmony in the world. The more love, freedom, ... the higher the chances of survival of living beings on earth. Be happy and live in harmony with your environment. As the degree of freedom and happiness increases, the images in the trilogy become more colourful, lively and vivid.

The kiss between fish and whale. The kiss between fish and mammal. It represents the kiss of nations, religions, cultures and species. The kiss symbolizes the importance of diversity and the dependence of the overall system on all of its individual parts.

No human being without fish, no human being without insects, no human being without plants. Without understanding there is no peace. No freedom without democracy.

In the first and second levels of the image, the antennae and the nose consist of deformed and alienated human objects (the back of a chair and the window handle). The back of the chair is made of thermoplastic material and the window handle is made of cast metal. Both human objects represent one of the main differences between animals and humans, the use of tools and the production of industrial goods. The consumption of resources as a result of industrialization and the associated environmental pollution is another thematic focus of the picture series “The Fabulous Man”.

Mankind's ability to survive in the future is essentially dependent on mankind's sanity. Will humanity find a quick fix for pollution, global warming, etc.? Will humanity become fabulous or will it destroy your habitat on planet earth?

This dichotomy is represented in the picture by the two faces (the fabulous man and the man). They are not congruent. Man (white facial features) with his few white sketchy facial features dominates the image just as Earth does in the real world. In the second image level, the human being is shown less like a sketch and as the sole living being, so that when the light source is switched on, depending on the color of the light source, the dominant impression of the human being is even stronger.

Will humanity become fabulous? Will you find the way of sanity? The path of reason and sustainability or the path of unbridled consumption and the destruction of your own environment.

Will people recognize the truth (TRUTH, mouth of the fabulous man)?

ArtKey – Explanation of the Art Key from: The Fabulous Human

(all pictures same artwork - LEDs set differently)

The ArtKey summarizes the stylistic elements of the image, compressed to the essentials.

INV (Inversion): The image does not contain any significant inversions.

AS (Association): The gemstones arranged in a scar structure together with the human features of two faces are intended to evoke the association with a mythical creature (not human, not animal) / The gemstones that form the raised structure of the skin create together with the coloring and the face the association with a noble being. The grain of the skin creates an association with a reptile skin through its arrangement and the alienated form of the gemstones / The feelers on the eyes of the mythical creature together with the eyes overlaid by the gemstones create the association with an insect.

ENT (Alienation): The fabulous human V2, is shaped by a skin whose raised elements are formed of deformed cut gems. The scar valley consists of a skin surface similar to that of humans. The grain is arranged in such a way that the impression of a reptile skin is created / In the upper left half of the picture you can see an abstract fish that was created from a deformed LightTop. The fabulous human's nose was created from a deformed backrest of a chair. The tentacles of the fabulous man are created from alienated window handles

ABS (Abstraction): There are essentially three abstractions in the picture. The fish, the choice and the mythical creature with human features.

PiP (Picture in Picture): There are several pictures on the front of the picture, which in turn form the overall picture. Essential elements are the abstracted fish (upper half of the picture, left) and the whale (upper half of the picture, right). The alienated chair back (nose of the mythical creature) and the alienated window handles as feelers of the mythical creature. On the back of the picture is a picture of an abstract human being, reduced to a few white lines. The front of the picture is decoupled from the back of the picture below in the reflected light area. Only in transmitted light are the two images superimposed to form complex new images.

UEB (Exaggeration): The picture has no major exaggerations. Only the size of the diamond skin structure can be perceived as exaggerated.

ILU (Illusion): The image has no significant illusions

Style: The stylistic element that determines the picture is abstraction. There are several objects in the picture that are alienated or abstracted parts of the picture composition.

INT (interaction): Viewing of the image by the viewer / change in the image (color, brightness) due to internal and external light sources / interaction with the environment / haptic skin feeling

Glossy structures: mirror interaction with its surroundings. Habtische Diamant leather structure invites you to touch it.
